Strange as it seems, there was actually a time when kids were allowed to buy candy cigarettes, and their parents gave them the money to do it too. But as time passed, people soon realized that cigarettes were extremely harmful to everyone’s health, even if they weren’t the ones who were actually smoking them. Eventually by 1970, the word “cigarette” was removed from cigarette packs, yet candy cigarettes were still a thing. But it wasn’t too long afterwards when a number of states banned them as well, making sure to keep them away from kids altogether.
