Depending on where you are, there are some states that actually ban the use of masks. According to Middle Tennessee State University, “Some 15 states have anti-mask laws, as do many counties and municipalities.” A large reason why this became a law was due to a number of crimes in the mid-19th century. Then the anti-mask laws spread to other areas when certain terrorist organizations like the Ku Klux Klan grew, since they also used coverings on their faces. Although the law doesn’t apply to every state across the board, certain states have implemented it depending on the requirement.
