People might not realize this, but pirates are still a problem up to today. Becuase of this, one particular law was created to deal with them and people that might be dealing with them. Federal law states that they will persecute anyone that “consults, confederates, or corresponds with any pirate or robber upon the seas.” To further explain this law, you don’t even have to be in the act of piracy to be caught, but just being with anyone that is known to be involved with any piracy is considered illegal and punishable by law.
