As strange as it seems, it’s considered illegal within the United States to buy, import, produce, sell, distribute, advertise of transport any type of merchandise that happens to be made from the fur of cats or dogs. This means that any items that have been made with dog or cat pelts are considered illegal, except for one exception, if they are preserved via taxidermy. It is also notable that they cannot be imported for sale within the U.S. either.
