Chilean Sea Bass is probably the most popular fish with people requesting it the most when eating out, and for good reason. But much like redfish and other sea creatures, they have been overfished to the point of extinction, which is why they have since been regulated. It wasn’t only the United States, but a number of nations joined a global coalition to ban the import of Chilean sea bass for some time. Although the laws have been relaxed since, fishing, selling and importing of this fish must undergo a very strict documentation to make sure that it has undergone the proper fishing protocols so that consumers and sellers alike know that they are getting legally fished sea bass.
