The American politician and lawyer, Stephen Grover Cleveland, is famously known as the sole president to serve multiple but non-consecutive terms. Although he came from humble beginnings, born in Caldwell, New Jersey to parents Ann, who was the daughter of a bookseller, and Richard Falley Cleveland, who was a Presbyterian minister, he procured his wealth from many years working as a lawyer and a public servant. He was also employed as a teacher at the New York Institute for the Blind in Manhattan before he pursued a career in law, and for a brief period, he was a trustee of Princeton University. Moreover, he made a significant amount of money from the sale of his property outside of Washington D.C. After his presidency, Cleveland purchased Westland Mansion, later known as Grover Cleveland Home, an estate near Princeton, New Jersey where he resided from his retirement in 1897 until his death in 1908.
