As if women didn’t have it tough enough back then, but aside from having to look perfect, be perfect and act perfect all the time, they had to make sure that they smelled perfect too. Now don’t’ get us wrong, there’s nothing wrong with smelling nicely, what’s wrong is the way that women were put in their place by a society ruled by chauvinistic and sexist men. This ad for a deodorant started off all wrong by first calling out women that they believed were “Beautiful But Dumb” then going on to say that “She has never learned the first rule of lasting charm,” which apparently is a long-lasting deodorant. Who knew?
