It’s no wonder that Americans love their guns. Aside from the fact that the second amendment is the right to bear arms, back in the day, advertisements had kids thinking that owning a gun was just like having a toy. Just take a look at this Winchester ad. It says “Start him right – right now! There’s a Winchester 22 for every purse and purpose.” Of course it makes you wonder what purpose a kid would have to need a huge rifle, but hey, apparently it was the norm back then. Never mind that the kid looks a tad bit frightened by the prospect.
