This is yet another ad hinting that a woman couldn’t keep her man because despite everything else, she turned him off with her bad scent. The ad says, “He said “Good Night” but he meant “Goodbye” because of that!” Then with zero subtlety, it says “Don’t let DEODORANT FAILURE rob you of popularity…” This might have worked back then, but if you tried to shame women for the way they smell, claiming that this is why they’re unpopular, the company would get blasted for their ill and crude advertising skills.
