Back in the 50s, it seemed that so many companies promoted guns to be totally acceptable for kids to have, even as Christmas gifts. And that didn’t just go for kids, but for every single member of the family it would seem! As the ad starts off with, “Seven to seventeen… Daisy will make it a Christmas to remember. Whether you’re just starting out… or graduating to a high-power pellet plinker… Daisy’s got the right gun for you.” It even goes on to say, “You’ll have years of fun shooting outdoors – or in your own basement or rec room with Mom and Dad.” Wait, what? Did it just say in the rec room or basement? This family will be lucky if they survive Christmas, what more any day afterwards.
