Geez, Talk About Taking the Joy Out of Christmas

Talk about a really sad Christmas. Not only does this advertisement by Dormeyer advocate not truly caring to think about what your wife might really want, it’s asking husbands to circle a gift they think their wives want without really considering their wives feelings at all. And given that every choice is one of many home appliances, it also suggests that women were expected to spend their days slaving away in the kitchen making waffles, toast, pancakes, coffee or whatever else their family may desire. Just look at the bottom tagline, “Husbands, Look this ad over carefully. Pick out what your wife wants. Go buy it. Before she starts to cry.” Honestly, this entire ad makes us want to cry.
