Although it has taken many long years of study and research to explain that the long-term effect of cigarettes on the body – most especially the lungs – cigarette companies like Camel used to use doctor’s approval to get their customers to buy their packs. These days, you’ll find that every pack of cigarettes has a General Surgeon’s warning label on them, most of which say “Smoking Kills!” And given that this ad actually has not only one physician, but five of them promoting their product, they must have seriously believed what they were selling. If a doctor attempted to promote smoking today, they’d probably call him or her a quack!
