Palmolive is one of the bigwigs in the health and beauty industry, but one of their very early ads shared “A wife can blame herself if she loses love by getting “Middle-Age” Skin!” So first, they blame the woman for losing love because one, she’s not using the right soap because it’s giving her bad skin. And two, it’s all her fault for losing love as well, no way could it be the man’s fault right? And to add insult to injury, the ad goes on to say, “she learned her lesson.” If bad skin is something that breaks up a marriage, then the couple has way more problems than that and their marriage was bound to fail in the first place.
