A 1950s Answer To “Her Kind of Pressures”

Guim

Women have been patronized for generations, and this particular ad goes on to prove exactly that. The pharmaceutical company, Meprospan, suggested that women needed a drug to deal with “Her kind of pressures” that could last them all day. Of course they don’t go on to mention that what this drug also does is induce the possibility of dizziness, drowsiness, headaches, diarrhea, vomiting, numbness, and more. What they fail to address is that anxiety disorders shouldn’t just be given a pill to “deal with it,” but rather support, understanding, and love from their loved ones.
