The photographer of the photo above was told to delete the photo he took. Because the officials feared that if the photo spreads, people who would see it would assume that the man that is just lying down to rest is actually dead. Although, the man in the photo above is not actually dead or even injured. He’s alive and was just resting after a long and tiring day.

The thing with the North Korean government is that they don’t want anything that would make North Korea look bad to be photographed. It is therefore illegal to take photos of soldiers resting and relaxing, or even with ragged clothes. The only photographs that are allowed are scenes that would show that North Korea is a great country. It’s a facade for tourists, which is part of the North Korean propaganda.
