According to the websites of some travel agencies that arrange official tours to North Korea, tourists who go to North Korea are allowed to take many pictures while in the country. And these photos can freely be shared and uploaded to social media and blogs. They do remind potential tourists that there are some prohibitions and rules when visiting North Korea. These rules would be no photos of the military, no photos of construction sites, photo of the leader’s statues/portraits is allowed but must be shown respect, you must listen to your guides and that you have to go through customs when exiting the country.
This might be the case, but keep in mind that if you take a picture of something that the tour guides are not happy about, they will ask you to delete it. The same things will happen when you are leaving the country. Customs officers will look through your phone and camera for pictures, if you have taken any picture that is not allowed, they will ask you to delete it.
The photo above portrays a form of poverty which is illegal to photograph, if they see that you have a photo like this, the authorities will ask you to delete it.
