The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK or North Korea) government does not want anyone to take a picture of any scene that would depict the poverty that is experienced by the North Korean people. So, the picture of two children having to carry containers of water in a desolate and dry landscape is definitely something that is prohibited. This is according to Eric Lafforgue, “The North Korean officials hate when you take this kind of picture. Even when I explain that poverty exists all around the world, in my own country as well, they forbid me from taking pictures of the poor.”
