Queuing in North Korea

The photo above shows a lot of people waiting in line for a chance to ride the bus going to work. Public transportation in North Korea is not that great since people have to queue in a very long line just to be able to ride an under-maintained bus just to be able to go to work. Of course, they have to go through the same long queue when they are on their way back home. However, the North Koreans endure this every day. Which is why Lafforgue says “Queuing is a national sport for North Koreans”. Westerners would probably wait in line to the premiere of a movie or to a new fancy resto; but would you wait that long just to ride the bus going to work?
