Best:
Everybody knows what The Gem State is really known for: The Potato. But more than it being the best place to grow spuds, which Idaho produces more than any other place in the US, the state has other things that trump what the rest of the 49 have, and one of them is homeownership.
Idaho has been recently ranked as THE state with the most affordable home ownership. The low prices of real estate combined with low foreclosure rates make it the best place for people who are looking into putting a roof above their heads.
Worst:
You may think that the California wildfires are the worst, but did you know that Idaho has the most number of acreage damaged by these disasters? Over the last 10 years, 10% of the state of Idaho’s land have gone up in flames, making it the state to suffer the most destruction from wildfires.
Aside from this, Idaho was also the worst place for bullying, particularly the cyber kind. In a recent survey conducted by the Idaho Department of Education, the state got a 21.1 % rating, which is the highest reported in the US.
The state is also the worst place in the country for working mothers, this according to a 2018 WalletHub study which was echoed by Beth Oppenheimer, Executive Director of Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children during an interview with KTVB. She said “Idaho has not evolved as many other states have in terms of supporting women in the workforce. If you look at our businesses, if you look at our legislature, if you look at a lot of industries that are prevalent in Idaho, there are a lot of men.
