Best:
Young kids in Oklahoma get to learn their ABC’s early, thanks to Oklahoma being one of only three states in the US mandating Pre-K for children aged 4. The program is one of the country’s best, which is why parents in the state can consider themselves lucky.
And do you know what else Oklahoma residents are lucky for having? Smoky, chargrilled, mouthwatering barbecue. They may not be as popular as Texas or Louisiana for the delicacy, but they do have the most number of restaurants per resident than any other state. This means that residents of The Sooner State get easy access to a rack of fall-off-the-bone-tender ribs whenever they have cravings for it.
Worst:
Unfortunately, burning off the calories from all that barbecue can be difficult, or even impossible for Oklahomans. Oklahoma City, got the worst score possible for walking, meaning that the city has the worst infrastructure for pedestrians. The capital lacks proper sidewalks, making it unsafe for residents to reach their destination on foot. The danger of getting run-over by fast-moving vehicles on the streets of OKC is very real, which is why they’re trying to make the city’s walkability better.
