Probably the best thing that people in Missouri should be proud of is the fact that they are the best when it comes to giving back. The state comes ahead of most states in terms of being charitable, with the city of St. Louis leading the way as it has, without fail, ranked among the US’ most charitable cities year after year.
Missouri is also well-known for its mouthwatering barbecue. Kansas City and St. Louis can definitely give Texas and North Carolina a run for their money when it comes to slow-cooking those beautiful cuts of meat.
Worst:
Natural disasters.
US Tornadoes says that the state of Missouri ranks among the top 10 states in the US having the highest potential for being hit by twisters. The Show-Me State lies along Tornado Alley, which, as the name implies, is an area famous for the number of tornadoes it witnesses. In the past 70 years, 41 destructive tornadoes have touched down in the state, placing the state in 6th place on Weather.com’s rankings.
Aside from tornadoes, Missouri also has its share of the worst floods to ever hit the US. Living on the banks of the Mississippi river can be quite dangerous, even deadly, especially when its waters overflow and spill onto the surrounding land.
