Best:

Gumbo, jambalaya, beignets. If those aren’t enough to make you drool, then we don’t know what will. Louisiana is best known for its mouth-watering creole cuisine, which is mostly influenced by French and African cultures.

All that good food makes Louisiana the perfect place for dining out, especially if you’re single. That’s because the state also has the highest number of single, unmarried adults, which means you’d probably have no problem finding someone whom you fancy to share a meal with.

Oh, and they pay just a fraction of what other states pay per kilowatt hour of electricity. Nice.

Worst:

But having great food also has its drawbacks.

In a 2018 report released by 24/7 Wall Street, Louisiana was found to have the worst diet among all the 50 states. It showed that only 69% of adults living in The Pelican State ate their vegetables, well under the US average of 77.9%. This is also probably the reason why the state tops the US obesity rankings, with over a third of its adults deemed such.

Louisiana also has the most children living in poverty, a sad statistic that residents shouldn’t be proud of.
