Middlebury College is a small, private college which focuses on its liberal arts curriculum, and is also known as one of the “Little Ivies.” Founded in 1800, the school is famous for its foreign language programs, establishing its presence in several locations around the globe. Its most notable visitor is the Dalai Lama, who on his third visit in Middlebury, gave a lecture on international cooperation and optimism.
