West Virginia University is a public research university founded in 1867 and sits on a 913-acre campus which is home to 29,000 students. It has three mini-campuses that are linked by the Personal Rapid Transit System, built exclusively for the purpose of eliminating student traffic on local highways. Over 120 bachelor’s, 140 master’s, and 40 doctoral degree programs are available from the 15 different schools and colleges for students to choose from, with the top fields of studies including Arts and Sciences, Business Agriculture and Public Health.
