Established in 1883, the University of North Dakota is the oldest university in the state, offering more than 225 academic programs, and over 250 student clubs and organizations for nearly 13,500 students around the globe to join. It has nine different schools, including the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences, which grants the second-most degrees in the university and is known for its research in aviation, space studies, atmospheric sciences, and earth systems. Its medical school is the only one in the state offering a four-year doctor of medicine degree while its law school is recognized as one of the best value law schools in the nation.
